Working Together

What is it?

An informal network of people and organisations in London who run, or have an interest in, social enterprises that focus on helping people to get and stay in work.

Who’s organising it?

Social Firms UK has been contracted by Social Enterprise London to develop and support the networking project until 2011 with funding from Capacitybuilders.

Why a(nother) network?

Research has identified that social enterprises and organisations looking to set up social enterprises often feel isolated in what they are trying to do and would value some form of peer support.

What is it for?

The aim of the network is to facilitate peer support so that people can:

  • contact others with a shared interest;
  • learn from each other;
  • avoid pitfalls and the need to reinvent the wheel;
  • share concerns; and find solutions.

What happens?

The network enables members to:

  • link up informally to learn from each other’s experience;
  • exchange information and ideas ( see separate webpage);
  • explore potential trading links;
  • explore joint ventures;
  • access expertise in setting up and running a social enterprise;
  • access networking events organised by Social Firms UK;
  • receive e-bulletins with the latest news about network events.

Who can join?

  • social enterprises whose main focus is helping people into work
  • organisations seeking to set up social enterprises in order to help people into work
  • organisations who have expertise in setting up, running and growing social enterprises.

How do I join?

Send your work contact details (name, organisation, your role there, email, phone number, address and website details if available) to dcunliffe@socialfirmsuk.co.uk
