A time for social value SROI Network international conference

Thursday 16th February 2012 - Friday 17th February 2012
Organiser: SROI Network

As the world continues to face social and environmental challenges, the level of interest in social and environmental impact continues to increase. Social and impact investors, public sector commissioners and CSR departments increasingly want to know how much value their investment creates, and social entrepreneurs are recognising the importance of maximising the value they can create for those they serve.

Behind this interest is the question – how much social value are we creating?

The SROI Network International Conference will explore how Social Return on Investment, the framework and principles, can help answer this.

The conference will cover the following topics:

NOMS want to encourage as much participation as possible from the sector and see this as just the start. We want diversity in size, focus and history – even if you are a new and developing enterprise, please get involved.

Funky Junk

Funky Junk baskets.jpgIn developing countries, where rubbish collection services are minimal and environmental awareness takes second place to basic survival, plastic bags are everywhere. Choking drains, choking animals, blighting already difficult lives. So Funky Junk decided to do something about it.  Funky Junk was created with the dual aim of creating employment for the most disadvantaged people in developing countries, and helping to clean up their environment.
