Rumbles @ the Lawn are the proud winners of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber area award for ‘Excellence in People Development’ which was sponsored by Derby Corporate College. The final was held on Friday 25th September 2009 at The Belfry Hotel in Nottingham. This award is a welcome addition to the Nottinghamshire Stars Award won last year for ‘Best New Venture 2008’
Rumbles @ The Lawn is a Social Firm which is dedicated to positive employment and work experience opportunities for adults with learning disabilities is a realistic, safe working environment based at The Community Café, Sutton Lawn Pleasure Ground in Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. The enterprise was founded in late 2007 by their parent company – Rumbles Catering Project at Vicar Water in Clipstone, Nottinghamshire which is a registered charity. Says Manager, Gina Dolan, "all the staff and volunteers at Rumbles @ The Lawn are absolutely delighted with the award proving that dedication and commitment brings its own rewards but this type of recognition from outside is fantastic especially as the project is only two years old."
